Mentor Relationship

Mentors provide invaluable guidance and support during the ILD program year.

Each participant is paired with a primary development mentor; a “seasoned” leader in our local nonprofit community. Mentors have experience in a variety of settings and with all aspects of development.

Participants and mentors meet at least once following each class session to discuss curriculum and lessons learned. Meetings are planned by the participant to meet their personal goals.

This is a perfect chance to brainstorm, ask questions, bounce ideas, and build your skill set.

ILD participants also have access to the full mentor pool so as to gain the broadest possible range of development skills.

“It is very gratifying to pay forward the good mentoring I received, and I, too, learn alongside [my mentee] as she takes on interesting challenges.”  -- ILD Mentor, 2013
